For the longest time, I’ve wanted a personal business card - not necessarily to hand out, but just for myself.

I was raised by my grandmother, and I’ve always wanted to find a meaningful way to honor her. I considered getting a tattoo, specifically a Queen of Hearts, because we used to play a Russian card game called Durak (“fool” or “idiot”), and those memories are some of my most cherished.

But due to some cardiovascular issues, my cardiologist advised against tattoos because of the risk of infection.

So instead, I designed this card. Even if it never leaves my wallet, just holding it in my hands felt so special when it arrived.

The back features a Russian-style Queen of Hearts — in Russian, the queen is called Dama, which is why there’s a “D” in the corners instead of a “Q.”
